The cottage is located 2 km from the center of Les Houches (3000 inhabitants), in a quiet cul-de-sac, at 1080m altitude, on the edge of the forest of fir trees and fayards (beeches). To reach the village of Les Houches, there is:
– The train: TGV Paris – Saint Gervais Le Fayet, then regional train Le Fayet Chamonix, station stop SNCF des Houches.
– Geneva Cointrin airport in Switzerland is 1h15 from Les Houches. A bus commutes every day. In addition, transfers by minibus are also possible with more frequent departures and faster journeys. Possibility to rent a car at the airport.
– The road: easy access by motorway from Paris, Lyon and Marseille.
In winter, during snowfall, your vehicle must be equipped with snow tires or snow chains. In case of repair you can install “socks” for your tires, easy to put on sale on the U market and in supermarkets (you must put your car in a flat position).
For information, the municipal roads are cleared and salted every morning. Regarding our private part, a snow removal takes place every morning before 8am.
