n winter the resort of Les Houches offers beginner to expert levels. You can also go cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Ski schools offer you the possibility of taking your children all day, the chalet being located at 1.4 km from the ESF. For the little ones, a kindergarten is planned to introduce them to skiing. A ski shuttle runs in the winter and is located 600 m from the chalet.
You have 15 minutes by car the Brevent area, which is the junction with the field of Flégère, and the area of Grands Montets which is 30 minutes from the cottage by car. There is also for skiers of good level, the descent of the Vallée Blanche from the Aiguille du Midi. A week pass allows you to use all these ski areas, including the Courmayeur area in Italy via the Mont Blanc tunnel (30 min by car) and a day in the famous ski resort of Verbier in Switzerland (1h30 drive).
In summer, many hikes for all levels are possible from the chalet. For sportsmen, the chalet is located at the start of the old route that leads to the summit of Mont Blanc.
For children and yourself, I suggest you visit the Merlet Park, where you can find the animals of our forests. In the same corner there is also a park of hook-branch which allows you to evolve in the trees with the help of cables, sensations and thrills assured! If you want to join a group, the tourist office also offers hikes accompanied by a guide and routes on mountain bikes, or outings with horses. For downhill mountain bikers, the Bellevue skip accepts mountain bikes, an unforgettable 800 m descent climb.
The proximity of Chamonix, the world capital of mountaineering (10 min by car), also allows you to approach the Mont Blanc using the Aiguille du Midi dump that will take you to the altitude of 3800 m. Unobstructed view of the Mont Blanc massif. In the same spirit, the Montenvers train will take you to the Sea of Ice, with a possible visit to the famous Ice Sea cave. To make your food purchases, you have at your disposal two supermarkets in Les Houches in which there is a butcher butcher.
In the evening, the village of Les Houches offers Savoyard restaurants with regional dishes. For nightlife, the city of Chamonix offers a cinema, a bowling alley, many clubs and a casino.
